If I'm remembering correctly wasn't the singing a part of the storyline where she began to go a bit crazy? Overall I did not like the Melissa becomes a lounge singer story...it seemed they were at a creative rut with the character at the time and didn't know what to do with her. I preferred her in storylines that involved the family rather then her going out on her own without Lance or Angela.`
