Margaret Ladd's Imagination Workshop

Today, I would like to introduce you to the great work, that is done by Margaret Ladd and the people from the "Imagination Workshop".

The Imagination Workshop, located at the Jane & Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA, is a world-renowned dramatic arts program in which mentally ill and at-risk individuals write, direct and act in plays under the guidance of specially trained actors and other theater artists with the result of experiencing positive, lasting behavioral changes.
It was founded in 1969 by Margaret Ladd and her husband Lyle Kessler.

During weekly workshops held year round, participants play characters far removed from themselves. In the guise of these characters, and under the protective guidance of Imagination Workshop artists, patients are able to break out of their isolation and create genuine relationships.

Please have a look at their website www.imaginationworkshop.org. It's worth a visit. In the right corner you can find a video that gives you an impression of the workshop and you can also see Margaret Ladd in some small sequences.
